Dear Future Sooner,

Gosh, I remember the days of filling out college applications, taking ACT’s & SAT’s, applying for scholarships, and trying to figure out where God wanted me to go to school! This may be the first time that you have ever had to make a decision like this. Everybody is giving you advice, and trying to figure everything out is overwhelming! To top it off, you are involved in every club and activity in your High School, and you are trying to enjoy your senior year!

We want to help, in any way possible. If you are considering OU, please let us know, because we would love to host you on your visit to campus. Many of our students would enjoy showing you around (you know, giving you the down low that the “official” tour will not show you), and putting you up in the dorms for a night or two. That way, you can really get a feel for what life at OU is like.

There are all sorts of activities going on around this ministry. We have weekly worship meetings each Thursday evening, as well as parties, retreats, and conferences throughout the year. You are welcome to join us any Thursday night, when we pack out the place for a time of worship and spiritual challenge. If you would like, please consider coming with us to Glorieta, New Mexico for Spring Break! Each year, several hundred students from OU and the University of Southern California spend a week growing with Jesus and having a blast!

The BSU, which stands for Baptist Student Union, is committed to serving you and challenging you in your relationship with Jesus Christ. We have several hundred students involved from all backgrounds and parts of the world! Our singular passion is to know, love, and glorify Jesus Christ. It does not matter what church you grew up in (if you went to church at all), we welcome all students to be a part of what God is doing through this ministry. We are not a church, but a ministry supported by Baptist churches all over Oklahoma for the purpose of knowing and encouraging you.

Maybe you have questions about a particular major, financial aid, or Sooner football. Whatever your need, please do not hesitate to ask! We have students in every department and major involved in the ministry here who would love to help you.
